2023 in Pisticci….a well travelled Sunday …..

And all without leaving home.

If this post seems a little distracted it’s  because I’ve just read that Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested.

Obviously  I don’t know what the truth is about all the allegations that have been made.

And maybe I’m a bit naive , but she seemed to be one of the good guys, especially during the pandemic.

Whereas the news is full of reports about so many other politicians who have allegedly wasted taxpayers money, partied during lockdown, gave  public money to friends and none of them have been arrested. I haven’t maybe put that very well , but I was worried about being libellous.

The only upside I can see is that in Scotland politicians are not above the law and that is a good thing.

I know from experience  that I can’t write  about ordinary stuff when I’ve got something on my mind.

Back to life in Pisticci.

This morning was a good morning to sit on the doorstep and enjoy the flowers, blue skies and good coffee.

Mostly blue skies as you can see the clouds in the reflections.

I couldn’t think of anything to do today so I thought I’d read until I came up with an idea

Soon it was lunch time and I’d spent all morning in Venice with  Commissario Brunetti.  ( Donna Leon. ) It felt as if I was there. There are 19 books in the series .

Over lunch I went to the Italian Alps , 2 hours from Turin where Martijn Doolaard is fixing up 2 old houses. The scenery is gorgeous. It was raining there and there was a thunderstorm here at the same time.

Just before the rain.

From there I went to Portugal to watch Maya Feliz strim. And then strim some more…

After that I returned to Venice.

Soon it’ll be time to go to Positano with Nickipositano and after that I might join Josh and Ula on their narrow boat somewhere in England.

Tomorrow I should be back in the countryside near Pisticci painting shutters.

But now it’s time for wine and my next virtual trip.

Cheers🍷🍷

My little wild poppies.
