2023 in Pisticci….Hurray….it’s the weekend ……

This morning I arrived at the little house which I’m ” painting” into a cottage and it was blowing a gale.

Not very flattering photo….did I mention that it was a cold wind

My bin bag stuffed with newspaper which I was sitting on blew off as I attempted to clear up after the water jar had tipped over in a particularly violent gust.

I never found it…..but the newspapers escaped and blew all over the courtyard.

Everything had to be weighed down. The wind was so strong that even my hand shook from time to time.

There was no way I’d have gone up a ladder today.

I was painting 2 pots with a lemon and an orange tree in them.

Trees by the door.
More or less finished now.

I’m very happy with the results and despite the weather it has gone well. ( and as far as I could see all my painting equipment and brushes have arrived home and aren’t scattered all over the garden. )

It was quite satisfying tidying out my rucksack and checking my paint supplies.

I’ve now got a box of old paint, hardened paint, nearly empty containers and some not very good cheap paint in a box all ready for my next project in my house. It occurred to me that all the murals etc inside and outside my own house are all done with left over paints .

Obviously I don’t use them on other people’s houses.

I was thinking of buying some more colours , but can’t make up my mind so will leave that for another day.

It hasn’t rained today.

Despite these clouds.
Now it looks like this.

Two days off…..what bliss! Maybe I’ll do some washing…. more wind forecast…..or paint the top part of my house….I have the long brush and the paint……I need to buy varnish and another brush, so I might stop for a Saturday coffee on the way…..and pop into the butcher’s for more wine. Or read more of the Commissarrio Brunetti books and eat chocolate…..or sit among my plants and enjoy the sunshine……

But now the door is open, the sun is shining in, I can hear my neighbours chatting outside in the street and I have a glass of wine to hand.

Cheers🍷🍷
