2023 in Pisticci….all about floors…..

I suppose it’s a bit of a boring title, but I’ve had such an exciting day fixing my floors.

To start with I put all the rugs , except the 2 thick ones, in the washing machine.

No, I didn’t paint the middle of the floor. It was damp and the paint wouldn’t stick. It might be okay now ( 4 years later)….but I’ve none of the terracotta paint left.
Carpets drying in the 36C heat. The one on the ground has been soaked and scrubbed.

I was up early as usual and as soon as the rugs were hung out I got to work mixing up a terracotta paint colour to use on my workroom floor. I can’t believe that I managed to get exactly the right matching colour.

And I know it’s right because I touched up and covered marks on my living room floor and it matched perfectly.

Before 10am I had managed to cover the floor with the sun dried rugs without using the big thick one. I don’t understand how that happened.

How is that possible?

And I was ready to do a second coat of terracotta paint on the floor in the work room.

Before I started.
View through to my workroom now.
I varnished it about midday and it’s touch dry now, but I’m not walking on it yet.

I had to be fairly athletic to go back and forward between rooms today. I had knee brace thingies on both knees which was probably a good idea as the splits and some jumping was required.

There was no time, and it was too hot to paint a lemon tree. Last night I went out and finished off the orange tree. I’m very pleased with it now.

I hope I can make as good a job of the lemon tree.

It looks like despite the faulty white paint that this week’s plan to get my house ready and tidy for summer is coming along very well. Just one lemon tree to go.

The fans are both working…..more or less though I’ve not used them today.

Time for wine now and then I’ll just have another hop, skip and a jump through to my gallery to admire my new floor.

Cheers🍷🍷
