2023 in Pisticci …more dungarees, a seascape and some award photos….

I like days where I have something physical to show for them. I think I may be more of a human doing than a human being…. there are worse things.

As I need a large seascape for tomorrow I thought I’d better paint one .

It was proving difficult to get started. So I watched some sea painting videos, but got bored.

I considered a colourful under painting to get me in the mood.

Then I went for a short read …more Commissario Brunetti.

After that I checked out some paintings on Google and found one very similar to a photo I took of James on the beach several years ago. It was priced at €700. I reckoned I could do a very satisfactory painting using my photo and I wouldn’t be charging €700.

So I got started.

I liked this, so I knew the composition would work. It’s sort of the opposite colours .
Several hours later

While waiting for paint to dry I found another pair of dungarees, cut the sleeves off them, (have a plan for using the sleeves.) then hemmed the armholes and was reasonably pleased with the result.

I also cut about 10cm off the legs.

Have worn them all afternoon while painting. Very comfy.

Today one of my facebook friends called Alberto Raimondo posted some photos of the charity art auction I was at on Thursday night. I thought I looked quite nice so here they are.

It was outdoors . As it went on all the chairs were filled and people were standing at the back.
Being interviewed about my painting. Mostly involved smiling…….
This lady bought my painting
Looking very pleased to get second prize.

I think this might be the summer of dungarees . These black ones (in the photos) were bought in Tescos in Perth. My daughter and grand daughter have a pair exactly the same. It’s a family thing……..

Now it’s wine time and I think I can have Sunday off …..or there is a local scene on my easel……

But for now am finished.

Cheers🍷🍷
