2023 in Pisticci…..adjusting to deal with the heat…..

It occurred to me that if I cleaned my little old fan then it might start working again.

I didn’t really want to unscrew the cover so I tried cleaning it with the hoover, ( nope! And spent 20 mins finding an adapter to plug in the hoover. On the plus side I did hoover the workroom rug. ) Then I used a paintbrush., ( not very satisfactory….), so I tried a feather duster.

Finally I did the sensible thing and found a screwdriver and unscrewed the cover . It immediately started to work .

40 minutes later it died and is now waiting to be thrown out.

Fluffy came in once or twice to get out of the heat.

I’ve had the door open most of today.

I have a vague plan for placing fans at strategic points. I think it might work.

On the other hand a four hour lunch break spent pottering about, sleeping and reading in the gallery is probably a more ” going with the flow” idea.

On that basis I started work at 4pm. ( I had drawn a grid on a canvas in a very slapdash mood earlier.)

I’m making a slightly smaller version of this painting for someone.

Tomorrow I mean to make a big canvas and draw the next commission, which is also a copy of one of my paintings. ( I’d better do that before my 4 hour lunch break/siesta.)

And finally I’ve given my brave starving plants some nice dark compost. First time in 3 years.

Grateful plants.

I thought I’d take a photo of the valley as it’s now changed to a more yellowy colour . It proved quite tricky as I can’t stick my hand round the side of the fence like I used to do as the plant growing in the drainage tube is now enormous.

This is the best I could manage.

I had planned to go out to the supermarket this evening about 6pm, but as usual I decided that I didn’t really need to…..

So, it’s wine time now and a quick search through youtube politics and then maybe a few episodes of FAUDA on Netflix.

Cheers 🍷🍷
