I thought it was just normal hot July weather . There has often been a week of very high temperatures near the end of the month.

Then I saw a BBC news report on YouTube.

I thought that I’d better check for myself and put my thermometer outside around midday. It was about 42C.

It has been as warm before.

I was glad to start work at 8am today. By 10.30am it was a bit hot even though I was working in the shade. However I was nearly finished and was home by 11am.

It’s been a very pleasant afternoon.

A bit of reading, a little bit of painting ……and my new light arrived.

I’m now waiting for it to get a bit cooler outside before I water the flowers.

In the meantime I’ll have a glass of wine. And enjoy having done a good job.

Tomorrow it’s on with the next one.
