So I’ve come through to the hot part of the house to see how warm it is….and to slouch.

It’s been a long day after a restless night .

I got up about 5am and then dyed my hair and cooked an enormous pot of chickpeas which had been soaking in the fridge.

Part of the restlessness last night was due to rustling and other noises.

It is possible these noises were coming from outside or upstairs. It’s very difficult to tell….

To be on the safe side I decided to clean out and hoover under everything. That included tables, wardrobe, shelves, corners etc.

That took some time as it meant tidying and moving stuff around in the process.

I was surprised that actually it was cleaner and tidier than I thought though I threw out a couple of bin bags full of stuff.

However there was no evidence of little ” critters” so maybe the noises were from outside.

I hadn’t mentioned that Fluffy brought me a gift of a very large mouse 2 days ago. ( I prefer to believe it was a mouse.) This has been on my mind quite a lot.

It feels good to know exactly what’s where now.

I also put out to the plastic recycling bin about half of my plastic carrot boxes.

Then it was time for a short read. The scottish detective story is so much more violent and grim, than Commissario Brunetti. I’m keeping going as there are at least 5 in the series and they are free.

I managed to roughly draw 6 local scenes before giving up at 4pm.

Now I’m having a glass of wine and waiting for someone to come and look at paintings. They will be here after 5pm…..which could mean 7pm.
