I didn’t sleep very well last night. It was so quiet. There has never been a night in all the time I’ve had this house that Nella has not been upstairs. It felt strange and a bit lonely.
It didn’t help that I stood on another slug with my bare foot. I assumed I wouldn’t be bothered with slugs until the weather changed. Gross !!!
And I’ve finished all the gentle , comfortable Commissario Brunetti books . Now I’m reading about a Scottish bad tempered , nutcase detective …….not good for the middle of night .
However this morning as I had several aubergines given to me by my neighbour I decided to make parmigiano a melanzane. I found a really easy recipe on youtube and it turned out very well.

It’s now in portions in the freezer.
As I began to paint some of the other melanzane my neighbour popped by and said she was making me lunch.

Half of the lasagne is in the fridge for tomorrow.
Nice neighbours.
In the meantime I got busy with my Sunday painting. I can’t resist painting aubergines as they are so beautiful.

My work diary is now up to date.

I could have been out at the feste in Marconia seeing the panels I did on the carriage, but I’m just not up for it. I did the work and I’ll pass on the recognition.
It’ll be back to mural painting tomorrow, but possibly in the afternoon. I need to collect green paint from the other side of town in the morning and the forecast is for gale force wind.
Wine time now.
Cheers 🍷🍷
