Knowing when a painting is finished is not as straightforward as you might think.

It seems to be something to do with almost everything being as close to how I imagined it as possible. Nothing ever turns out exactly how I think it will for a multitude of reasons. But there is a point when I think, ” Yes”.

Today after finishing the pavement and painting 4 tiny cars, I worked my way from one side to the other adding small details, extra foliage and some highlights as I went along.

So I’m done.

Tomorrow I’ll buy varnish.

This afternoon I finished off yesterday’s painting by painting the edges and giving it a glaze. Then started another…….

Now it’s time to get ready to go out and meet friends.

I might have a small glass of wine while I get ready.

(I’ve just been a tourist attraction. It’s really fun to meet people and show them round.)

And the house was tidy!!

Definitely a glass of wine now …
