2023 in Pisticci….loving bricks…..

It was while I was waiting for someone to arrive that I had the idea. I was just standing about and noticed that there was some bare wall .

I sometimes think I live in a stage set. ” Artist’s Home”. I was originally inspired by a photo of Virginia Woolf’s green room, but have gone very much my own way since then.

My house makes me smile and I think it has that effect on visitors too. I like that.

So, back to bricks……

Since I discovered a video on youtube showing an easy way to paint bricks I’ve been having fun. First around the sink, then on the latest mural and today on the shower room wall.

The best thing is that I think that it looks like it’s always been this way.

White Wall around 9am
Waiting for paint to dry about 11am
Finished 1pm.

This summer I’ve upgraded my house with paint . First there was the floor in the workroom which is now terracotta like the living room. Then there was the sink alcove which is also terracotta surrounded by bricks. Then there was the blue work table. And now the brick wall. There are also a lemon and orange tree in pots by my door.

Makes me happy.

This afternoon I worked on yesterday’s painting with all the windows, shutters, doors and balconies etc.

It’s about 80% finished.

There was a saint passed by this morning with a minimal brass band. It was Saint Leonardo from the countryside where I used to live.

Just around the corner.

It’s been a good weekend and now it’s time for wine and vlogs.

Cheers🍷🍷
