I think I might well be over prepared. But a week without any particular work to do leaves me a lot of space..

This morning I washed all the clothes I might take with me . I like hanging out washing.

Then I wondered what to do. And that led to checking out all my art supplies and books.

In among this I found a pastel painting of a gypsy woman from Florence which I thought I’d lost.

I was in Florence by myself in 2006 and 2 women had asked me for money. I said I’d give them some, but I wanted to take their photos so that I could paint them. They were fine with that.

In these days I only used pastels.

I think I saw her again on a later trip to Florence.

I was really pleased to find it.

Most of the rest of the day has been spent watching YouTube videos on painting and drawing. I am learning bits and pieces.

And kitten watching…..

I made them a little cat shelter in the big flowerpot , but they weren’t interested.

Now I’m planning a nice relaxing evening
