Today was to be my first proper trip with my camera . My plan was to go to the market and take lots of photos of people so that I can put some convincing people in my paintings. And also it was my first ” journey . ” My idea is to go somewhere every month with my camera then take photos and do some sketches and related paintings. Next month’s journey will be to Scotland. Hopefully by March I’ll have a plan for somewhere else to go.

However I had 2 commissions which I hadn’t finished yesterday as I was busy getting my laptop set up.

I got up at 5am and they were both finished before 9am. That felt good.

I set off in the sunshine and got to the piazza San rocco where I was hailed by the courier. This sort of thing happens a lot in Pisticci.

Off I went back home as a box of 45 candles was too heavy to carry around.

Second time around I made it to the market.

I found a small rucksack to carry my camera and other bits and pieces so I’m now well organised for going out taking photos .

When I got home I decided to have a go at connecting the monitor to the new laptop. Apart from having no sound it actually worked…..and I fixed the sound problem. ( thanks google)

I knew I could call someone if there was a problem, but it was very nice to be able to do it myself.

My little table is perfect.

Pizza night at the Lanterna later so I’m getting lots of exercise today.

Meanwhile I’ll just have a glass of wine to pass the time before I go out.
