2024 in Pisticci……looking at old portraits……

My plan today was to tidy up a bit so that I felt more like getting on with some work tomorrow instead of feeling overwhelmed by the mild chaos in my house.

There was a certain amount of organisation but of the” throw it in the cupboard and shut the door” type.

Or hide behind a curtain….
After
Before.
After…..not much difference, but I know where most things are.

I found a lot of photos of old portraits I did . Some were done at least 18 years ago and the oldest one is more than 25 years old.

First ever oil portrait . It was from a photo in a newspaper
I’d forgotten how much I liked this one . In oils. About 18 years old.
This was also painted about 15 years ago.
This went to Sweden I think
I liked this. Nobody else did.
I like the composition in this.
This won second prize and was painted in a day.
A charcoal self portrait which doesn’t look like me.

I was surprised by how well done some of these are. In those days I took more time and quite a lot of them are painted in oils. ( take note Anne!)

It’s good to feel tidy. I didn’t find anything very interesting at the back of the cupboards. But my bins are full.

And I feel a bit more in control.

Now it’s wine time.

Cheers🍷🍷
