It’s been a quiet day and tonight is free of visitors .

After very little sleep I decided to take things easy .

I needed to go out to collect prescriptions and buy wine.

In the spirit of being kind to myself I bought a pair of loose fitting, stretchy corduroy trousers and some matching socks. I like to have something new or different to wear to travel. I buy by sight and these are extra large. I gave up paying attention to sizes here years ago.

Last night while I couldn’t sleep I found a box of travel watercolours by Sennelier on Amazon. They were half size, but I’d really like to know if it’s worth buying more expensive paint.

I’m prepared for travelling now with camera and watercolours. I’ve already got lots of watercolour paper and sketch pads.

I contemplated buying more water soluble oil paints , but decided to check how many I already had…..proving to myself that even in the middle of the night I’m not a complete spendthrift.

I’ve been considering trying out oil paints again, but I think in my head I felt I had to use up all my acrylics first.

It is possible to use both I suppose.

Most of the remainder of the day was spent making the people in my latest portrait look better than they do in the photo. I hope I’ve succeeded.

It’s time to light the stove and chill. ( that doesn’t sound quite right!)
