I didn’t know what I wanted to paint so I looked around my gallery and wondered if it might be fun to add figures to most of my paintings of Pisticci.

It was a bit like populating my little painted world. At first I was going to use photo references, but then I got bored and reckoned I nearly knew how the human body worked. That meant I could make people do more things.  I  still have a lot to learn about figures, but I’m pleased with most of these. And I think they fit in and don’t look like they’ve been added later.

Went out to buy strawberries this morning.

I think that was quite a satisfactory  day’s work. I’ve been wondering about painting Pisticci,  as by this time of year I’m usually working on a project for summer tourists.  I think I would enjoy painting scenes and then adding people. It would be something new for this year.

So that was a good start to the weekend.
