2024 in Pisticci…… editing at 2am…

I’m going to get my eyes tested again. About 5 years ago in the UK I was told that I had cataracts. Last night about midnight I got all worried about it and there was no way to get back to sleep without some serious distraction.

So I got up , turned on my laptop and have now reached almost half way through editing my book.

I’ve never done that before. It worked too. I felt much more relaxed and went to sleep afterwards. I don’t plan to make a habit of this.

So , next Tuesday I will get a phone call telling me what time to arrive at the opticians.  ( I’d better check out the italian alphabet before then.)

Today has felt a bit odd. That would be sleep deprivation.

However , after having made my appointment I took a different route home to take photos.

I’m not in a rush to get started on my next commissions. I’m still working on filling some nice old frames.

Today’s little oil pastels and paint work.

I’ve hung all the recent small flower paintings up in their frames, but I need to wait for a few weeks until the paint has dried before I spray them with oil pastel fixative.

Now it’s wine time. Hoping for a better sleep tonight.

Cheers🍷🍷

  1. I had the operation to correct cataracts, sooner than usual mainly because my eyesight was so very poor. Although the anticipation was nerve wracking it is an amazing thing to happen- after being minus 12 and wearing glasses with thick lenses!
