2024 in Pisticci…I made a chair……

And last night I ordered a pair of lovely red reading glasses from the optician.

Despite it raining and my umbrella repeatedly blowing inside out I arrived at the optician’s relatively dry. And glad that my appointment had finally arrived.

I had been worried about my eyesight for several months. But only persuaded myself to make an appointment last week.

It was such a lovely , friendly chatty experience.  There were several people waiting and everybody smiled and said , ” hello” . In the space of an hour and a half there were at least 3 artists including myself getting their eyes tested.

The doctor who did the tests was nice and I understood well enough what I had to do.

It was strange to sit in the shop while the drops he put in my eyes made everything more and more blurred. Then there were a few more tests, bright lights etc and I was done.

My long distance glasses are staying the same, but my reading glasses were to be changed.

We laughed about the red glasses being suitable for an artist. I was so happy and relieved I would have bought purple ones with green spots.

I spent the rest of the evening feeling incredibly thankful and happy. 💃💃

I’m looking forward to wearing red glasses.

Today I was tired.

I can’t remember painting this. And I don’t know what I did to make it appear here.

Lately , despite having enough money in the bank I’ve had problems with credit cards and paying on the Internet.

I went to the post office and tried to pay my WIFI bill with the receipt. Back home I managed( fingers crossed) to pay it online.

Anyways I hope that this new system will work.

After lunch I thought that I’d better have a  go at putting my new chair together.

Lots of bits and screws and things…….
The gas heater is useful for lots of things
Finished.

I was very pleased that I didn’t have to unscrew anything and put it somewhere else.  I was a little taken aback when I’d finished and there were still several screws left. Then I looked again and they were marked ” extra “. Phew!!!

I couldn’t think of anything to paint after that, which was a shame as I was keen to try out the chair.

It’s  been raining quite a lot today so I’ve brought the gas heater back through- to use as a heater.

I found 2 cheerful paintings from the past.

One of my all time favourite paintings.

I think that the weather should be cheered up by next week when I am going to Trani.

Cheers🍷🍷
