That’s not an expression I’m very fond of, but I had a list of things I wanted to do in Trani and as far as possible I’ve done them all .
This morning I set out to find the art shop…..and I did. Only it was closed.
I went out for breakfast and after passing lots of bars I found a little one which was nearly perfect. Actually I am such a scaredy cat that, I was pretty desperately needing a coffee and something to eat and had discounted all the others as being too smart and scary. Then I saw this one which looked very unthreatening and had tables inside. I was so hungry I ordered 2 small cornettos and a cappuccino. It was delicious…..and cost €2.50.

I had already been for a walk by then and bought socks in a lovely Chinese shop.
Then I found a supermarket and bought a small box of wine.
Well pleased with myself I headed home to my friendly cellar.
It was time to go on a photo walk and I spent the next 2 hours wandering about around the port and the Jewish quarter. Most of the photos are still on my camera.

After lunch I packed my sketchbook and set off to draw some boats.
To my surprise the port area was packed with people. Restaurants had large queues and there was no way I was going to sit in among the hordes and draw.
So I went for another walk.

I decided that I would have to just draw some boats from photos.

Finally I went out again. The art shop was still closed.
It looked like it would rain. I took some brilliant photos. ( in my opinion)

It’s Liberation day today which accounts for the crowds. I didn’t buy an ice cream as the queues were too long. I sat on a bench and enjoyed the light and the boats.
I’m pretty sure my next painting will feature boats.
Now it’s wine time.
Cheers🍷🍷
