Today was sunny again, with a cold wind and it was sports day at some of my grandchildren’s school. ( I have 5 grandchildren)

It was interesting . I haven’t been at a sports day since my children were small. It doesn’t seem to have changed much. Lots of serious faced children running, skipping, jumping in sacks, balancing eggs on spoons and much more.

My granddaughter won the 400 metres at the end. After standing around for nearly 2 hours I had gone to sit down as I seem to be able to walk for hours ,but not stand still. SO I MISSED IT!!!

The last time I was at a sports day people were not allowed to take photos. This seems to have changed, but I didn’t take my camera.

Later I made a quick sketch on page 21…..

Back home something is happening in the garden.

Having bought a lovely linen jacket because it had phone pockets I couldn’t  be more ready for my holiday……until I think of something else.

Wine time now. Am meeting an old friend tomorrow. Looking forward to catching up.
