2024 in Pisticci…cooker painting in progress……

It has been hot today. Around 40C.

Despite that I went out to meet a friend for coffee, taking care to stay on the shadow side of the street.

I wore my cut out  trainers which are still comfortable and go very well with one of my 2 euro dresses.

My new paint brushes cost about 5 times more  each than my dress. I like to think I’ve got my priorities  right. 😂

After lunch I cleaned the cooker and got it ready for painting.

It was white originally.

It was a lot more difficult to paint it red than I had anticipated.  When I made it beige, the colour was okay looking a bit textured and streaky, whereas this red needed to be as matte and smoth as possible.

Work in progress.

I need to apply another coat of red paint with a roller, tidy up some edges, paint some more metallic parts and then varnish everything.

But it’s looking as if it will look okay. ( which it didn’t for the first 2 hours when I thought that I’d made a big mistake. )

The metallic silver chalk paint is fantastic. It covers so well.

Will need to resist painting everything silver……frames maybe?

My new fan is on full and I’m comfortable. It’s nearly 30C in here. Probably a couple of degrees less in the gallery.

Wind from the Sahara today I think. Hopefully there won’t be any fires.

I was going to work on my portrait a bit….but it’s probably good to give it some space.

Wine time now.

Cheers🍷🍷
