It has been an amazing 3 days. My hosts were exceptional,  the village was prettier than I had hoped and the apartment was in a lovely little street. And it was cool.

I painted a small painting of poppies and then decorated a plate with more poppies as well as completing 2 drawings of local scenes. That is more than I expected to do.

Finally I went on a trip in the countryside which helped to put the town into context.

I was back home in Pisticci  by 9.30am.and out watering my flowers straight away. They survived .

I’m thinking of doing housey stuff over the weekend. Though now that I’ve rediscovered how pleasant drawing is I’ve a third view I might draw. The trick seems to be to tell myself that I’m only drawing. The painting can be done anytime. 

It’s hotter here than in Oliveto lucano. I need to make sure I stay cool and go out as I was getting a bit stir crazy before I left. We’ll  see how that goes.

Next week I  have some plans and maybe will be organising another trip.

Am glad it’s wine time now.
