I’ve no commissions right now which is fine as it gives me space to try out things. I am planning a painting as a gift, but there is no hurry to get it done. I’m waiting for new canvas boards to arrive next week so I have time to potter at things.

Today I thought that I’d paint a small version of the gift painting. So I cut an old canvas board in the same proportions.  ( though having failed my O grade arithmetic, maybe I didn’t!)

My rough plan is to paint a view of Oliveto lucano  with flowers around the edges. I wanted to have a practice and see if it would look okay.

So tomorrow  I might try again.  Unless I come up with a completely different idea.

It’s still quite hot, but I think I’m getting used to it.

My cold sore disguising make up arrived today. ( it says that it will cover tattoos….so I think it might work. )

I tried to neaten up my drawing on the vase painted in the style of the Painter of Pisticci.  I’ve seen someone else’s which was much better done than mine. Still not particularly happy with it.

It was good to go for a walk to the supermarket  this morning. Almost always there is someone to chat to on the way or in the supermarket. 

Today I met the organiser of the Lucania International Film Festival which will be starting about the 9th of August and is held in Pisticci.

Hopefully I’ll have got myself into going out late mode by then.

I’m glad it’s wine time now.
