I think my new cooling system is working. The new fan is good enough to keep my gallery and workspace cool. And the airconditioner can deal with the 32C in my living room.

I mostly painted poppies today. I think I’m getting better. I like painting flowers , but in a generic sort of way. I admire artists who can paint flowers which look real. 

I think of mine as like cut out cardboard petals so that I can work out what shapes they should be and where the light and shadow goes ….and then I just guess. Mostly I draw something roughly poppy shape and then try and see them 3 dimensionally. If that sounds complicated,  it is because I don’t exactly understand what I’m doing. But I’m happy with my progress.

I’m also glad that I bought cadmium red, light hue as it seems to be the best poppy colour I’ve found so far 

It took me  most of today  to finish . Now I can be on holiday and paint anything I like.

I was going to go out tonight , but I don’t think I will. There’s  always tomorrow   ………

I found a photo on facebook with a view of Pisticci  sitting on top of the calanche.

Now it’s wine and vlog time.
