That is a first for me. I was going between painting my latest commission and smartening up my living room. I’d had a bit of a pattern overload in there.
First I took the tartan throws off the armchairs and then the liberty patterned cloth which covered the top of the chest.
Then I decided that the 2 little mats in front of the sink and the cooker were more pattern to be removed. ( at least for now.)
I cleaned the front of the armchairs with a new upholstery cleaner and after a lot of fiddling around and trying out different throws, I’ve decided just to cover the cushions and tomorrow I’ll clean the lovely shell like backs with the cleaner. ( it works!)
Then, the chest looked a bit boring , so I used some of my remaining chalk paint to draw a line around the top. It’s subtle , but I like it.

Next I wondered if I had any other rugs, if I should buy some and finally decided I’d just paint one and varnish it , and it would do for now.
Out with more masking tape, chalk paint and some acrylic paint to march the carpet.

And now the living room looks like this.

Meanwhile I was busy painting and now the first painting is 80% done.

I couldn’t really get in the mood for going straight on with the next one. But eventually I got some watercolour pens and drew in some of the details.

It rained a reasonable amount this afternoon. Not that it’s much cooler, but my plants will have enjoyed it.
So tomorrow I will hopefully get the second painting to 80%.
Next Friday I should be going to Scotland .
Wine time now.
Cheers🍷🍷
