2024 in Pisticci…..that went well…..

After sleeping almost all night it maybe wasn’t surprising that I had a very satisfactory day.   People who sleep well have no idea how fortunate they are.

Anyways, I began the finishing work on the 2 paintings of Oliveto lucano  and by lunch time they were both done. I’ve been using watercolour pens to add detail which is great fun.

It didn’t take long to fix the little brown house and the roof and then I had fun with light and shadows.
There wasn’t much to do to this. I added some more shadows and some pink to the cobbles.

And then I thought that maybe I could tidy up the shower room floor by repainting the terracotta  lines between the tiles. I bought a new polycolour vinyl paint to use for roof tiles, but it looked exactly right for the floor.

Looks cleaner.

Then I decided to paint the toilet seat cover to match.

I like this.

I’ve ordered  some satin varnish and will give the floor and toilet lid a couple of coats.

I also ordered some more acrylic paint, another sketchbook, some white acrylic pens and more watercolour brush pens.

I can afford all this from selling these 2 paintings and a portrait. So my painting can pay for itself.

I’ve had some ideas for my next work when I come back from Scotland. I’m hoping to have fun with sketch books in Scotland.

Then there was time to draw my next portrait commission.  Would like it finished  by Tuesday.

It must be cooler as I didn’t have my aircon on until about 5pm.

Wine and weekend now. Next Friday, all being well, I’ll be at Bari airport and on my way to nice cold Scotland…….

Cheers🍷🍷
