2024 in Perth….in the art gallery….

What a lovely time I had in the art gallery.(photo refuses to upload)

I didn’t know what would be in the exhibition, so I was delighted when I found out that it featured one of the Scottish colourists I like, J.D. Fergusson.

It was like a feast for my eyes. Seeing paintings online is okay, but nothing like real life. ( I’m thinking of going back tomorrow)

As I had got a lift from my grandson last night and then a bus back, I had the price of 2 taxi fares burning a hole in my pocket.

I decided to buy a book in the foyer.

I have a plan for a large still life to do in Italy and this is so inspiring.

As there was a seating area and coffee available, I bought an espresso and a tunnocks teacake,  then sat in a comfy chair and looked at all the pictures in the book. ( Definitely  should go back tomorrow….the coffee was good too .)

Feeling much cheered and encouraged I set off to have a look in the art corner of a shop in the retail park.

Paint sticks, watercolour brush pens, watercolours in pots, and water soluble wax crayons.

Spent a happy couple of hours with Katy watching “Fatherhood” on Netflix.

After that she investigated her potato plants. (Her first year of growing vegetables)

It was quite exciting.

And there are more still in the ground.

Before I started to write this I thought that I’d experiment with my new art materials.

I used the paint markers, wax crayons and the watercolour pens.

What a very satisfactory day….and I nearly forgot to say that it was warm and sunny .

Cheers🍷🍷
