2024 in Pisticci…a bit of dismantling, heavy lifting and shelf making……

The day started well when the bin men took away my big black bag full of things including a dismantled granny trolley.

Hurray!!

Possibly I was inspired by this.

My two latest commissions  were to be collected this morning.

The giant tile. I ended up sanding the sky and repainting it before giving it a final coat of varnish. It looked much better.
This is painted on wood and will have hooks at the bottom to hang keys on.

So while waiting I thought that I’d move my big new painting into the gallery which then led to ……..

Dismantling my old fans and putting them in a bin bag.

First fan done……

Moving 5 bags of pellets from the gallery to join the rest in the corner by the fridge. I have 17 bags  ……might last me all winter if I just use them in the evenings like last year.

Then I made a shelf out of an old mirrored door which would never fit in a bin bag. However it’s now  displaying several paintings and has about 8 frames underneath.

I put a white curtain over the ” shelf”  which meant I could hide all the frames underneath.

I moved all the paintings out of the glass fronted cupboard and put all my art books and magazines in the bottom shelf.

There was also time to gesso a few sketchbook pages.

After lunch I did some more ” weight lifting” when I bought lemonade, sweet potatoes and a large melon from the supermarket.  Next time I want a melon I’ll get one from the fruit stall in the piazza.

Before finishing for today I brought my work diary up to date. ( and moved the previous 4 into the cupboard.) I started in June 2021.

Tomorrow I’m not sure what I’ll do. Everything looks so neat and tidy. Like a new sketchbook just waiting to be used.

I pulled the gas heater out so that if I need it I won’t need to move everything to get at it.

No doubt I’ll think of something to do.

But for now a glass of wine is just right.

Cheers🍷🍷
