It’s been lovely not having the pressure of having commissioned work to do.
It’s not that I don’t have lots of ideas of what I could do, as well as a very varied amount of art supplies to use, but I couldn’t get started.
After watching about 3 Sandi Hester videos I decided that being in the same room as my sketchbooks and paints would at least help.
I decided to draw Gwen John again using charcoal. ( I printed out a self portrait she did in black and white for reference. )

After lunch I thought I’d look at some art books and copy something.
The first one I opened was a big picture book of paintings by Monet which I bought at an antiques market years ago.

Then I thought that I’d better go and get more hairspray as Ive been using it to fix pencil, charcoal and wax crayon drawings.
It was nice to get out. ( looks like it’s going to be a rainy weekend.)

It’s dark now, as I worked some more on the Monet sketch after I came back home.
Wine time now.
Cheers 🍷🍷
