2024 in Pisticci   ….getting up at 4.45am……

That was not one of my better ideas.

All day long I’ve felt sleepy.

I didn’t feel like painting anything so I filled in the day with odds and ends interspersed with reading/sleeping.

I thought that I’d better go to the supermarket  as it looks like it’ll rain until Monday. ( I have got waterproof boots  now so I could go out…..unless the rain is so bad that it runs like rivers down the streets.)

Back home my winter jeans were still lost somewhere so I had a successful  search for them and tidied up the high shelf in the process. Luckily I didn’t fall off the ladder.

Much neater now.

I found several more nice old cardigans, tidied out my jackets. Throwing one out, so cut the back off it to make a cushion cover. Wrapped the rest of it around the dismantled fans in the black bin bag.

Everytime I felt a bit tired I gessoed some more pages in my sketchbook.

Then I tried writing something on the laptop using the monitor as as the screen. My new red reading glasses really help. Maybe I’ll write something over the winter.

That’s when I saw that my electric bill had arrived. At €61 for 2 months , then my air conditioner hasn’t been too expensive.

After that I moved some paintings so that I could display my Oliveto paintings together.

I particularly  like the 2 on the orange wall.

Hopefully tomorrow  I’ll be full of energy….. or something resembling that.

Oh, I forgot. I was thinking that maybe I should make some big canvases, requiring a trip to the hardware shop and then carrying wood all the way across  Pisticci. It occurred  to me to look on Amazon and see if there were any reasonably priced stretchers for sale……there were! So I’ve ordered 4 80x70cm sets. I’ve got 2 big canvas rolls so Ive more than enough. Now  I’m excited to paint a set of 4 big paintings.

It’s dull outside and probably going to rain soon.

Still pretty when it’s dull.

Wine time and weekend……

Cheers🍷🍷
