2024 in Pisticci…another hare, a geranium and a charcoal portrait …..

I think what really got me started today was hanging out the washing and being outside in the sunshine.

And , I forgot , I watered my neighbour’s flowers and then my own. That helped too.

I even sat outside  for a while and painted ( not very well) a red geranium.

I like my watercolour box. I bought it in Scotland.

Before lunch I drew my next hare painting.

And after lunch I painted it.

Getting brave, drawing 2 of them.
What a lovely collection of gifts. They’re all varnished now .

The big canvas is still empty.

However I did some more sketchbook gessoing.

Then I saw the first oil portrait I ever painted in 2002 of an old lady. Probably from an obituary photo in a newspaper. And without overthinking it I did a charcoal sketch based on it.

Not a very good likeness , but was fun to do.

It’s dark outside.

It feels like the weekend now. I’m fairly sure it’s a holiday here tomorrow.

A satisfactory  day.

Cheers🍷🍷
