2024 in Pisticci…. Kateryna Bilokur

The book I ordered from Ukraine arrived today. (I had to pay 15 euros custom duty to the postman, but it was worth it.)

I read about this artist on Substack.

Her story is on this account. And the link to buy the book is there too.

I bought the book because I read her life story……..and I liked the colourful paintings. But it was definitely reading about the struggle she had to become an artist which impressed me.

I liked that I could in a small way support a Ukrainian publisher too.

I haven’t looked at everything yet.

So that was exciting.

As was opening the door this morning after a very ,very windy night. With no double glazing and gaps galore in my house the weather seems closer, loud and more scary.

Tumbleweed……must have blown over the top of the fence.

Mostly today ……again, I painted foxes.

That’s me done with foxes now.

Tomorrow I think I’ll paint flowers.

After looking at Caran d’ache neocolours 2 ( water-soluble  wax crayons) which are pretty expensive I found a box of 10 white ones for a very reasonable price and ordered them. White is a really important colour and there is only one in each of my boxes of ( cheaper) wax crayons. So I have ended up previously  buying a new set , just to get another white. Am very happy to get 10 whites…..and I can see if they are really as good as Sandi Hester says they are. Hurray!!!

Yesterday someone said that I was ” such a drama queen” when I said that I had been singing ” always look on the bright side of life” to myself , because I’ve been worried about my eyesight. This made me very happy as up until now I’ve always been described as ” quiet”. Progress I think.

It must be wine time by now. Its dark outside, but not windy thank goodness. The wind keeps me awake because it’s so loud.

Cheers🍷🍷
