I was sitting in  the departure lounge in Bergamo Airport and there was a beautiful  black grand piano in the middle of the floor. I was hoping that someone good would come along and play it , but as no one did much more than twiddle I thought that I’d draw it on my tablet to pass the time.

This morning I went out for coffee with one of my hosts from the airbnb. They have been very friendly and helpful. It really makes a difference when I’m travelling on my own. I like meeting new people too.

I think that’s  what I like about travelling and Airbnbs, ( carefully chosen). It’s the nearest I will get to trying out a different life for a few days and meeting real people who live there. I  enjoy imagining who lived there in the past too.

It was a good trip home. There were lots of things I didn’t know about the bus to the airport , but I asked. You can now buy a ticket from a machine on the bus, but I had bought one in a paper shop yesterday so I needed to put it on another screen. And I managed not to get off at the wrong airport. Who’d have known that there were 2 airports in Bergamo.

The flight was on time. No passport check as it was an internal flight. The airport bus was waiting and then friends picked me up in ferandina, where aliens are welcome.

When I got home I ate the second arancino. I was really hungry.

Then I noticed I’d no water.  Quickly followed by remembering that I’d turned it off.

Unfortunately I think my cistern has finally given up and water continually poured down the back of the toilet. I stood on a chair and twiddled with this and that, but not even my bit of wire helped.

Time to get it fixed….and thanks to friends someone is coming tomorrow  or Monday. In the meantime I’ve turned the water off again. I can manage fine with a few adaptations.

The pellet stove started first time. I didn’t check the temperature  when I got home, but it’s now up to 18C. The electric blanket is switched on. My bed was cold and almost damp feeling. It’s a  nice feeling making my house cosy.

I’ve put up one bit of Christmas tinsel. I got distracted by the running water.

Now I’m waiting for friends to arrive with Glugg. ( Swedish mulled wine. )

Good to be home. .
