2024 in Pisticci….made a Christmas card painting

At least, I think I’ll use it as an online greeting card.

I was watching another video on YouTube by an artist I’ve seen once or twice and she was using crayons on a black background. I loved what she did which was a sort of portrait with lots of details in the background.

I thought it would be nice to paint my nice colourful room with the decorations and have me sitting in the chair wearing a Santa hat.

I’m impressed by my confidence to ” just gef on and draw” what is a reasonably complicated scene. I took some photos with my phone for reference and painted over an old painting with black gesso.

Drew the scene roughly with a white pen.
Then used my water soluble oil pastels and finished by adding some details, including myself, with acrylic paint
I think that the best thing about this is that I didn’t try very hard and I enjoyed it. I like it.

The good thing about using pastel crayons is that it’s impossible to get too fussy. Also I like the texture.

While I was busy painting Fluffy was sleeping upstairs on my bed.

She hasn’t been upstairs for ages.

She has just come in again and gone straight upstairs.

This morning I went to the supermarket,  mainly for exercise.

I think these will be for the ” living nativity ” tomorrow  evening.
These flowers look very nice , but there was virtually no pavement before and now we have to walk on the road.  It’s a 2 way road and there is hardly any room for pedestrians.

I’m glad of my pellet stove tonight as it’s quite chilly.

I like Sundays as a lot of people I follow post videos on YouTube.

The new series I’ve found on Netflix is set in Spain and so far it has  rained almost all the time. I think it’s called 1992. I’m not sure if I like it but I’ve watched 3 episodes so it can’t be that bad.
