I arrived back from Edinburgh about 5pm yesterday. after being stuck in a traffic jam.
Everything went well at the clinic . I kept waiting for it to hurt, but it didn’t. It also didn’t feel like someone was poking about in my eyes so I wasn’t squeamish. And I didn’t want to sneeze in the middle of the operation. Neither did the electricity fail. ( 2 of my favourite anxieties)
When I got home after a scary journey ….I forgot that my son who was driving could actually see, whereas I was being assaulted by car lights at twice their normal size while streetlights looked like giant mushrooms.
I had taken my new sunglasses from poundland for which I paid a whole £1, just incase I wasn’t wearing scary see through goggles when I left. That was lucky! The not so scary goggles were actually 2 separate transparent plastic covers which I had to tape on when I was going to bed.
I was very glad of them then, as I felt much more secure when my eyes were protected . I am to wear them overnight for the next 7 nights.
Today I’ve been able to see my phone and laptop perfectly well and could watch TV although it’s a little bit blurred. My pupils are still quite big. But I can see better since this morning…..and now instead of one good eye and the other blurry, they are both the same.

I’m getting used to the new eye makeup less self…….4 weeks until I can use eye make up!
I can also go trampolining after 4 weeks, but have to wait 6 weeks till I can bungee jump!!!
One week till I can paint.
Colours look different. I was in the bathroom at 3am staring jn wonder at my toothpaste tube which appeared to be almost glowing. Since then I’ve noticed that the pink carnations I painted are now a different colour. This is going to be interesting.
I’ve worked out how to best apply drops in my eyes which involves sitting on the floor with my new mirror on the table , slightly bent towards me. I have antibiotic drops 4 times a day for 7 days and other ones, also four times a day for 28 days.
My eyes feel a bit gritty, but not bad otherwise.
I can’t drink wine until tomorrow.
But there is some very nice lemonade in the fridge.
Cheers.

I found this very old ( 14 years ago) painting I did of the market we used to go to in Taranto.
