2025 in Perth….a new project …..

Well, it was like this. I had watched a very boring video about painting leaves and another video appeared after it. There was a lot of psychology, statistics and scientific evidence about how painting was good for your mental health and encouraged more creativity.  The artist making the video was starting a project to paint 100 very small paintings in a year. I immediately thought that was 2 every day……( highest mark in arithmetic was 50%)

After that, 2 every week didn’t seem many at all.

So I cut up some paper and decided that I’d give it a go. ( I didn’t cut up 100 pieces as my experience with projects is that I forget about them after the second day.)

Cutting up the paper
I was going to paint flowers and only picked up this little book to put my water jar on.
I reckoned there was no way that I could make a success of this so it was quite relaxing.

Day one of project. Tick

I went out for a coffee and to the supermarket . ( just like at home)

This morning I stared out of the window again. It was a clear day, but I can’t believe that I can see so far.

Distracted…..

Today I didn’t even try and paint leaves. ( I threw out the tulips as they were a bit past it.)

Katy says that I should really enjoy this week while I’m ” taking it easy”.I’m going to do my best.

Found some photos….mostly digital from autumn 2020.

I love the colours
It seemed like everything looked great so I painted beside my door.
I love washing
A scribbley scene . I thought it would make a lovely poster.
I drew this from life sitting up by the arches.
Actually , I always drew these from life.
Except for this portrait of James. It took ages, but I love it

I must have decided to paint the shower around this time.

Work in progress
Finished.

Wine time now. Still watching “Commissario Nardone ” on youtube.

Cheers 🍷🍷
