2025 in Perth…..bought a new jacket….

New, as in new to me. £15 from Barnardos. It’s fairly bright purple checked and it makes me feel very cheerful.  My other jacket was bought as the best out of a selection of nothing very inspiring and was warm, but always made me feel a bit boring.

I tried to take a photo, but couldn’t get the full on purpleness. It’s got lots of pockets so is good for travelling.

I had been looking for a charity shop jacket and this was the first one that I really felt drawn to. After comparing both of them in the mirror I was right. The new one sings.

Another thing is that it will probably stay the same colour. Since the cataract op colours have not been the same as before.

I didn’t do any painting today, but took a nice photo of the work so far.

I didn’t know circular paintings would look so good.

It’s raining, but it was so warm around lunch time that I was out shopping without a jacket. The weather has been so much better than I expected.

I’m up to early autumn 2024 in photos now. I was obviously busy painting Oliveto Lucano.

One of these is sold, but the others will be going in the exhibition.
I was trying charcoal portraits in a sketch book.
This is Gwen John. One of my favourite artists.
James on his 70th birthday
I started to paint lots of small paintings for gifts.
I loved the way the hares’ came out of the black background. The first time it was accidental.

Then I had some commissions and did a very big painting of food.

This was to have hooks screwed in at the bottom and be a key hanger.
This was a giant tile which I could hardly move and was a technical nightmare to paint.
I enjoyed painting this very big painting of food I ate in Oliveto. It was a first where I wasn’t so concerned about perspective.

It’s Katy’s bodybuilding competition tomorrow.  I’ve had a short preview. She looks amazing.

Wine time now.

Cheers🍷🍷
