2025 in Perth..painted another creepy woodland scene…

Katy thinks that my woodland scenes are creepy. I’m taking that as a compliment as I must be creating some atmosphere.

It’s  rained a bit today so was a good day for painting.

Today’s ” creepy” woodland painting. I might need some more trees on the right.

I got started the next one.

Some interesting  water in this one.

Hope I’m not getting a cold or something. Been feeling a bit off and a little down.

However  today I was looking at photos from March and April 2019 when it looks like I was moving from my lovely little artist’s house into my damp and not very nice studio.

I had given myself 50 euros to make it spectacular, so that I didn’t feel sad leaving my perfect little house.

( getting the roof fixed thanks to ex was an enormous plus. Since then the rain has only fallen outside and not through all the holes in the roof. )

I moved virtually all the furniture by myself and painted walls etc like a mad woman.  I succeeded in making it fairly spectacular.  And it has only got better since then.

The original floor which flooded when it rained half way through the roof repair. It was then painted, but about half of it never dried so I covered it with rugs and got on with life. The patchwork quilt on the wall was hiding the horrible damp wall.
I found a sheet and painted a window on it to cover the damp wall.
I also found a pelmet to make the window look better.
Then I painted a Welsh dresser. After this I painted the cooker as well, making it look vintage.
Upstairs I painted the floor and the back wall.
And made a window for it too.
I imagined myself sitting writing a novel and looking out of the window. ( I never did.)
I used this to move some of my furniture.
A window in the shower room
I painted the tiles after seeing some at an antiques market.

And I think I found some time to paint pictures as well…

This when the cooker had been painted. ( It’s red now.)
I think this might have been a commission.
Bit of a fantasy garden here as all my flowers flower at different times, not altogether.

I’m looking forward to being in my little house soon.

Cheers 🍷🍷
