Today I did some tidying up which mainly involved deciding what to throw out..Then I made a cake.
The cake making went well despite everything.
I decided to make a ciambellone so I bought a special tin. It arrived yesterday.
This morning I went out and bought all the ingredients.
That was quite straightforward. However the recipe I was using was Google translated into English. Some of it didn’t make sense.
Also I can’t really use Katy’s scales as they’re digital. I’m used to the old fashioned kind…..or measurements in cups or spoons.
There was a big mixing machine which I passed on too as it looked a bit scary.
However 3 eggs were three eggs, except I used 4 as they weren’t very big. I’ve no idea how much milk or oil I was supposed to add so I guessed.
It was a ,mixing the dry ingredients separately and then adding them to eggs, sugar milk, oil and half a large bar of melted Cadburys chocolate which I happened to have, sort of recipe and as I was using a hand whisk , it was hard work.
Next time I think I should set the oven a bit lower as I had to turn it down half way through.
Despite all this it actually turned out very well and tastes good.

I’m starting to think about what to take home with me now. I’ve only had underseat luggage for years, but I have an overhead suitcase this time .
I think I’ve caught up with myself on photos. It’s been fun and interesting for me looking back at paintings I’d forgotten about.
This is early summer 2019.

Wine time now. Two weeks today at this time I should be in Italy waiting for a train to Pisticci.
Cheers🍷🍷
