I often heard that people who were retired were busier than before.

This morning as I sat in my gallery sending messages to people wanting paintings I started wondering if that was me too.

Despite thinking that I would have lots of time to paint all sorts of new subjects and try out new mediums ( not that I actually had a clear vision for this…..) I’m working out how to fit in commissions which I had agreed to do before I had a delay with my eyes healing and agreed to do another exhibition. Everything else I’m putting off until August. 

However I have a vague plan.

Today I very roughly drew 2 portraits for the exhibition.  They are from old photos which I’ve painted from before , but I think I could do better. And I like them.

I’m thinking of using my neocolours first and then painting over that to see if I can add some energy.

I decided that it was too hot to go shopping at 8.30 this morning so went out about 5.30pm. It was still quite hot. 

I ordered a new pair of  cheap sandals as I’m tired of wearing the sketchers which are too big. Fingers crossed these fit.

And I ordered another 6 round canvases for fun. I love painting on round canvas boards.

I bought 5 litres of wine from the butcher and decided it was really too heavy to carry all the way home…..or I will have to start weight training.

Now it must be time to eat….and drink. The fan is blowing in my direction. I haven’t got round to setting up my portable air con yet.

I still need to water the flowers so better get going.
