It began when I woke up at 4am with a sore back. I don’t know what I did to it.

Eventually I got up around 5am ….after all the guy next door leaves for work at 4.30am , so 5am seems quite reasonable. I found my back support thingy in the wardrobe and put it on. It helped.

Last night a lady arrived with a friend and amid some possible misunderstanding I agreed to paint another house painting. Then the friend asked if I’d done the portrait for her. I looked a bit blank. I had no idea who she was. However I vaguely remembered putting some uncollected paintings on a shelf and to my surprise a couple portrait which I’d painted about 2 years ago was the one she was talking about.

I have another two commissions now to paint in September.

After much thought in the middle of the night, I messaged the person organising the exhibition and he’s coming round on Tuesday. I had no idea that life could be so simple if I just asked.

In the past I was so afraid of being a bother that I would get myself into ridiculous situations by not, just asking….

So today I painted another house portrait and then for a treat I fixed the 2 cat road signs which were a bit faded. After all I wouldn’t like to be responsible for any cat accidents.

Speaking of cats…..Fluffy is not under my bed having kittens. Phew!!!!

I don’t know where she is tonight….but she’s not in my house. I tried to block her out of the gallery where my bed is, but she just battered on through so I put her out. She was not happy.

It’s been much cooler today so she’ll be fine.

I’m sitting here with the door open and some cool air is coming in…..though not a lot.

Tomorrow  I need to paint edges .
