Or at least it was, briefly, though now the sky has lightened. It’s still very windy.

I always think that summer storms are what happens when it gets so hot that something bursts and the rain pours down to cool down the earth , before the whole cycle starts again.

I’ve booked tomorrow  morning to go shopping as it looks like it will be about 29C  before climbing to 44C on Tuesday.

However it’s good painting weather.

I’m feeling better about the portrait I began yesterday as it’s actually quite a  difficult subject.  It’s a straight on pose with very little shadow to help with making it look three dimensional.  Also the person has blonde hair which is tricky to paint. I ended up watching a video on planes of the face as I might need to exaggerate the skin tones. 

After lunch I decided to take a break and then paint the background of the other painting as something more relaxing. 

Tomorrow I should paint the two figures and hopefully with a few highlights and shadows make the face in the other one come alive.

Oh, here’s  Fluffy. It doesn’t matter what I do , she gets in unless the door is shut. She hid under the bed again yesterday.

It’s good to have nice wine again. I got paid in wine for refreshing the cat road signs. They are back in place now, possibly saving cat lives.

Wine time now. Maybe a bit Netflix later.
