As I struggled to finish today’s portrait I thought that maybe I just wouldn’t paint any more.

Really, I should just be more picky about what I say yes to. I’m happy to paint for friends, even when it’s a bit tricky, but I’d like to chose who to paint more often. It would be interesting to see how I got on with a live model…. or even just a very good photo.

So as a start, maybe, I’ve picked some good photos from UNSPLASH  where the images are free.

Maybe I should look for a portrait painting course ….one that includes hands and feet.

Anyways I was hoping for some company today as builders were supposed to be coming to fix the wall on the house opposite. Somebody did arrive eventually and now the wall looks like this.

I tried to think of something to draw on my new black painted canvases , but couldn’t think of anything.

So I painted the edges of this .

I watched a portrait  painting video and ordered two new paint colours so that I can use a limited palette of  three colours. I used to only use five colours. It was when I began to paint murals that I started to buy other colours.

It’s pizza night again. I hope it’s not too hot to walk across town. It would be nice if there weren’t wasps at the restaurant. I had to be careful not to accidentally  eat one last week. Maybe it would be better to sit inside ……

Better go and get dressed now.
