2025 in Pisticci..what a wonderful evening….

I can mostly say it with photos.

It was so good. My paintings looked the best they ever have, being actually displayed rather than crowded on a wall or table. I was impressed. People were so friendly. There was a buffet. It was a big deal for me.

First thing I saw when getting out of the car in the piazza.
Entrance. ( sculpture by Guiseppe Ligrani.)
There were 2 rooms.
Photo with a local writer.
Before it began
My large cooking paintings look good.
It was almost full when it began. ( James looking on)
The sindaco making a speech.
Repeating over and over in my head…sono molto grato
After My very short speech was done.
Flowers and photos.

Afterwards kind friends who had driven me there, (we were held up briefly by a herd of cows, ) took me to a beautiful restaurant where the chef came out to explain what was in every dish. ( and the waitress is going to deliver my business cards to the venue tonight as I forgot to leave them. )

I had only added James’s portrait to the big paintings pile at the last minute. When I sat down beside the sindaco and looked over the audience I could see James looking at me from the other room. It suddenly felt just right. I wouldn’t have been in Italy if not for him and I probably wouldn’t have carried on painting at the beginning if he hadn’t nagged/ encouraged me.

So after after being driven home on a road where we didn’t meet a car coming towards us for 45 minutes walking through the streets of Dirupo and the piazza clutching my bouquet was just perfect.

I thought that I might as well paint it.

Drawing it….
More or less done.

I definitely would like to go back and look around and maybe meet some of the people I spoke to .

Am feeling very fortunate and happy. I never expected this.

Wine time now and Sunday vlogs.

Cheers🍷🍷
