2025 in Pisticci…what a big experience I’m having…

Although I’ve painted murals before this one is, so far, being so many things.

I’ve really worked hard studying olive trees and working out how to paint the leaves and the trunk. That included three 60x80cm sellable paintings while I worked our how to paint them.

I’m happy so far with the design and colours used and I think I might even have a style that I like.

I’m enjoying all the lovely food and good company. There is a lot of laughter. Today I learned an expression in dialect which I could use if I was angry. Probably I won’t use it….except maybe at home….as I’m not sure just what it means.

I like how I’ve invented a new way of keeping my paint wet by mixing larger amounts in plastic tubs and then putting 6 of them in a plastic box with a lid. The system also works with egg boxes when I’m mixing smaller amounts.

It’s also a comfortable sized space to work on. It’s bigger than any of the big paintings that I’ve done recently and that requires different skills.  Also it’s cool and pleasant to work in. I’ve had to have a fan blowing at myself all summer.

Tomorrow  I’m hoping to finish all the leaves on both foreground trees , plus painting the two small olive trees in the distance. I’ve been working on the background as I go.  I need to fix the mountains too.

Ready to start painting.
Work so far.
More straight on photo. ( still need to fix little girl’s chin.)

Wine time now.

Cheers🍷🍷
