Today I mainly painted little white houses.

I experimented with using a black acrylic marker which I think I like …..and which doesn’t seem to smudge if I varnish over it.

After painting flowers and scarves it’s a bit strange to go back to painting fiddly little houses. I’m using my own paintings as reference and not actual photos. I’ve never learned how to paint an impression of lots of houses so that’s why it’s so fiddly.

I thought that using a black marker to draw everything would be fun. Also it’s easier to paint over lines  and smudge things than to neaten things.

For the second painting I shrunk the church and then used an orange wash.

Now it looks like this. 

I like how my house is in both paintings. 

Last night I watched the Mrs Pollifax film. It wasn’t as good as the audiobook, but it was entertaining.

Tonight it’s vlog night.

Only 5 paintings of little houses to go…..
