I went to the market in Marconia with friends today and while looking at clothes on the 3 euro stall someone’s cigarette ash fell on my new cord coat sleeve and burned it. It was a complete accident and the person was very apologetic.
Years ago when I didn’t like myself very much I would have immediately thought that it was a punishment from somewhere because I had been feeling very happy about having such a lovely coat.
So I was sad, but by the time I got back home I had 5 plans for how to fix it.
Starting with sewing a button over it and on the other sleeve so that it looked as if it was just a detail on the coat.
Also considered fabric paint, a patch cut from under the collar, adding a contrasting band of material on both sleeves and finding a similar coloured thread and patching it.
I settled for the button idea….it being fairly simple and luckily I have a ” button box” where I found 2 suitable buttons.

I’m also feeling much more relaxed about wearing it now that it’s no longer perfect. I might add a couple of stretchy pockets made out of socks in the inside. Great for holding my phone safely. Have done this in two other jackets.
I didn’t paint anything today.
But I put together some paintbrush holders so that I could tidy up my paintbrushes. Am not entirely sure that this will be much help and probably I should throw out at least half of my used brushes.
However after a lot of huffing and puffing and bit hammering I got them made up.

After the Ash episode I bought a painting jumper . That is one that’s warm, but I don’t care if it gets paint on it.

Now it’s cosy in here. I think I’ve found a new Nordic noir video which is more mystery than dark realism.

Cheers🍷🍷
