Today the person who is going to fix the cracked beam came round to look at it. It was like a meeting of two standards.

So maybe I’ll get my whole ceiling painted. When James did it he was hanging onto the top of a ladder while I held the bottom and crossed my fingers. It really needed two coats but we decided that it was safer just to call it ” distressed.”

Hopefully if one part of my house looks perfect it won’t make the rest of it look horribly scruffy……….

Will see……..might be nice.

Have the pellet stove going again tonight. I’m trying to get my jeans dried. It took 2 tries to start it. I told it quite firmly that if it didn’t start the second time that I was going to stick to gas this winter. Last winter I was in Scotland from the beginning of January until the end of April getting my ” new eyes” so heating wasn’t really a problem.

This afternoon I got back to painting. I painted a small version of the latest flower and scarf painting and then fixed some bits on the big painting. 

It’s cold outside, but the light was beautiful a while ago. It’s dark now.

Tomorrow it’s my half birthday. Maybe I should make a cake….half a cake….
