I was awake at midnight and wondering what might be happening up town in Pisticci. I once went to church with friends and when we came out after midnight there were lots of people about and bars open.
However this year I was in bed , if not asleep. I was watching a programme by some bloggers about a country that ends in “…stan” and used to be part of the Soviet Union. It was fascinating. I enjoy learning about countries I’ve never even heard ofย whose names I can’t pronounce.
I was going to have spinach and eggs for breakfast, but it was easier to just have peanut butter on rye bread.
After opening some gifts I got on with my plan for today which was to paint a self portrait called ” the artist at Christmas. “
I had to take a lot of photos before I got one I liked. It’s not easy to pose.
But before lunch time I’d drawn something.

And this afternoon I carried on with paint.

The frozen lasagne from the supermarket was okay. ( I think I like my homemade version better.) In the spirit of a lazy Christmas it was perfect. And maltesers to follow were no work at all.
It’s been a lovely day despite the forecast.

Now I’m looking forward to wine and Midsomer Murders.
Cheers ๐ท๐ท๐
