2026 in Pisticci….not painting…..

Today I began by bringing the new folding gas heater through into the warm part of my house. I’d read the instruction book and decided I could probably do this. ( set it up.)

Huh!!

It looked like I should fix the hose onto the heater and the  other thing. “Straightforward” I thought.

But the hose was so tight that I couldn’t get it on either end. Not sure if it needs more strength or there’s a knack I don’t have.

So giving up on that I decided that I could at least screw the frame together.  There were different kinds of screws and things, but the instructions merely say ” screw it together.” After half an hour I put it back in the box and left it for another day.

Didn’t look very complicated. (I have made an office chair with arms and a twirly leg. That was difficult…..but the instructions were very clear.)

Next job was to empty the recycling, etc cupboard so I could lay away my new food supplies which would soon arrive.

There were 4 bags of summer clothes as well as a box of stuff to throw out.
Tidied under the table and  they are all neatly fitted in. Now you see them…….
Now you don’t….
Supplies.

It was very satisfying tidying things away. I found several things I’d forgotten about.

This is a pastel portrait I did more than 20 years ago. I loved the expressions on the couple’s faces.

And it got better.

After thinking about it for a week or two I finally ordered a back rest cushion to make sitting, writing in bed more comfortable.

An hour later when I noticed it would be delivered overland and might not arrive until the end of March I cancelled it.

Then I had an idea.

I made a big fat comfortable supportive pillow using all the clothes I was going to throw out to stuff it. It was easy to sew up the sides of one of the scarves I bought to paint. And it works! It’s  actually quite comfortable….I thought it might have been a bit lumpy.

Perfect…..

It’s so much warmer today.

I found time to change the background in one of the portraits.  Plan is to completely finish them both tomorrow.

Very satisfactory day. I love being organised.

Cheers🍹🍷🍷
