This morning there was a lot of banging and thumping from upstairs.
My old neighbour’s house is being renovated. I’ve already been told that there will be scaffolding set up in front of my house and over part of my roof.
Yesterday I took photos of my roof….and then my walls, ceilings and anything else I could think of and put all the photos in a folder on my phone. ( last renovation builders made a hole in my roof. )
And then I looked out my brown noise plug in thingy and got it to work. I got quite educated in noise and dealing with it.
After that I charged up my noise cancelling blue tooth headphones. They work. Last time I couldn’t afford anything half as good.
And finally I went on Airbnb and found several places in Basilicata where I could go for two weeks for a very reasonable price. Last time I couldn’t afford to even consider that.
However as this time it’s not my ceiling being assaulted it wont be so bad.( It sounded like someone was trying to break through my floor the last time when all the floor tiles were removed. The noise was appalling and I thought my ceiling was going to collapse. )
So it will be different. But I’m prepared. It took me several years to recover from that last renovation. I was on edge for months afterwards and even yet I can’t talk about it without feeling stressed.
So I’m glad that I should be away a lot for the next 3 months.
Having said all that whoever it was, doing whatever it was, packed up and left after a few hours.
After all my preparations I got on with the still life. I think I might be finished. I still think it’s a bit strange, but I needed to do it.

Then I finally started the portrait. It’s all drawn and ready to paint.
Tomorrow I must go and pick up the saint .
Poor Fluffy is pregnant again and is getting fatter every day. She keeps hiding under the bed in the gallery, possibly looking for a place to have kittens. Not happening!!!

It’s been a sunny day again. I am loving the extra light. The sun shining in the door way in the morning is beautiful.
I found an old painting I did of my street quite a few years ago.

Wine time now.( And Midsomer Murders?)
Cheers🍷🍷
